I was born and raised in Orange, TX and have lived in Huntsville, Victoria, Wharton, and Panhandle (yes, there is a city called Panhandle in the Texas Panhandle.) I attended Little Cypress Mauriceville High School. After high school, I attended Sam Houston State University, where I earned my Bachelors of Art in Studio Art with a minor in Marketing.
My wife Mary is also a teacher with Shepherd ISD and we have been together for 9 years. We just had our first born daughter in the summer of 2015, Amelia. We also have two four legged kids, Faith who is a Lab/Doberman mix and Paisley who is a Dachshund.
I have been drawing since I was little. I took Jr. High art all 3 years, but did choir in high school. However in high school I developed a passion for graphic design, making up logos and helping with website design.
During college, I develop all my artistic skills even more. I was active in many organizations, including The Wesley Foundation and Swords of Sam Houston, and designed a lot of informational items for them. My favorite class was Aqua Media (water colors), due to the fact that we had the opportunity to paint landscapes in person.
This being my 7th year in education and my 3rd year with Shepherd Middle School, I am excited to be working with such a great district, staff, and students.
